E pluribus unum!

E pluribus unum! This is not just a cute motto on our money. It was the dream of our founding fathers. Stop choosing sides and start being one nation under God!

Our founding fathers did not see eye to eye on all fronts. But they did agree on one thing. That it was time to put our differences aside and stand together as one.  If they could see us now! I’m ashamed of what they would see. For such a young nation, we have become weak. We’ve become a nation of whiny, finger pointing, gutless couch potatoes. Sure it is easy to sit at the comfort of our computer and bitch about what’s wrong with our government. Sure it’s easy scream out “liar!” from the shadows. Sure, it’s easy to blame the other side for what’s wrong with our country. But that’s not how this country was formed, what made this country great. We came from countries that we loved, but didn’t agree with, or that didn’t agree with us, in search of a dream. A dream where all men & women are created equal, not almost equal because you’re one of “them”.  The one that’s one the other side. Other side of the political boundary, other color skin, other sex, other view point. Equal! Out of many, one! It’s amazing. They made it so easy for us, spelled it all out so perfectly and we still managed to twist it, taint it, dilute it so much it’s hard to even recognize it anymore.

We’ve given in to special interest groups. Yeah, they’re special all right. The special ones with the money that only have one interest: more money and to support their own interest. These special interest groups (AARP, the labor union and others) claim they are there to support the people.  If you are so powerful and you supposedly represent the people, then why are “the people bagging my groceries instead of enjoying the golden years”?

If someone says they have a plan and we don’t have a better plan, then it’s time we get up off of our lazy, cynical, over-weight butts and stand up, roll up our sleeves and work together.

I remember not too long ago that when times were tough and other nations kicked sand in our face, we rallied together, supported our troops, not with cute little magnets we put on our cars, but with war bond drives. We supported our President, good or bad. We did our best to make it through. We even wrote songs and told the bad guys where to go.

But now it seems that the quickest way to your fifteen minutes of fame is to speak loud and say something bad about the other guy. Well, my friends, we are in a house divided. If we don’t find a way to put our differences aside, we better start learning a new language. If you lost sight of your dream, then you better look deep inside and see if you can find it again. This nation is down, but it’s not out and we can be great again. But we have to realign our priorities. If we love our children, hug them, do text them. Take the time to feed them proper, not fill them with chemicals. My mother was a single parent with M.S. and she always made sure I had a good healthy warm meal. If she could, you can. It’s also time to take back our government. Bitching don’t get it done. Sign petitions, call your representatives and let them know that the status quo is over. If they don’t start representing us, we will not support them for re-election. We need to be our own special interest group because no one is going to look out for our interest as well as we will.

I don’t know about you, but I’m tired of listening to what’s wrong with this country and who’s sleeping with who take precedence over real news. I’ll tell you what’s wrong!  It allows them a very good living not telling the news and stirring the propaganda pot. Be part of the solution; please do not add to the problem. No more. Let’s take back our country and make it great like it once was, like it will be again!

In the plagiarized words of Charlie Daniels, “if the Taliban don’t believe it, they can all go straight to hell. We’re going put our feet back on the path of righteousness again. God Bless America again!
